At Make It & Take It, we keep things professional — but also relaxed and respectful.
These simple guidelines help everything run smoothly for everyone

Bookings & Payments

Your space is secured once full payment is received.
Course fees are non-refundable.
If something unexpected comes up, your booking may be transferred to another available course date (subject to space).
You’re also welcome to transfer your spot to a friend before the course begins.

Missed Classes

If you miss a session, it can’t be refunded or credited.
Catch-up sessions aren’t guaranteed.
Where possible, guidance or notes will be shared to help you stay on track.

Private Lessons

Private sessions are booked in advance and subject to availability.
Lessons within 10km of Centurion do not incur additional travel fees.
Beyond 10km, a R250 call-out fee or agreed travel rate may apply.
Private lessons are non-refundable but may be rescheduled with reasonable notice.

Sewing Machines & Equipment

Please bring a working sewing machine (unless arranged otherwise).
If your machine hasn’t been used in a while, a basic service beforehand is strongly recommended — it saves stress later.
Students are responsible for their own equipment and tools during class.

Studio Environment

Sewing involves sharp tools and machinery — please work mindfully.
Make It & Take It cannot be held responsible for personal injury or damage to personal belongings.
We maintain a respectful, supportive space where everyone feels welcome and encouraged.

Our courses are designed to build real confidence and practical skills. They are not formally accredited qualifications — but they are hands-on, empowering and skill-focused.

Looking for beginner sewing classes in Centurion? Here’s everything you might be wondering

(even the things you’re too shy to ask 😉).

What happens if I miss one of the sewing classes?

Life happens. However, missed sewing classes are non-refundable. Where possible, if space in another session is available, we will accommodate you gladly, or guidance will be shared to help you catch up, but full repeat sessions are not guaranteed.

Are the sewing course fees refundable?

No. All course fees are non-refundable.
But — good news — your booking can be transferred to another available sewing course date in Centurion (subject to space).

Can I give my spot to someone else?

Yes! If you can’t attend, you may transfer your booking to a friend before the course begins.

My sewing machine is ancient… can I still join?

If it switches on and sews a stitch — you’re welcome 😄
Older machines are absolutely fine, but a basic service beforehand is highly recommended to avoid frustration.

What if my sewing machine breaks during the course?

Machine repairs are the responsibility of the student. Unfortunately, course fees cannot be adjusted due to personal machine issues.

I’m nervous and feel like I’ll be the worst one there…

You won’t be. Promise.
These beginner sewing classes are designed for real beginners. Small groups mean no pressure, no embarrassment, just support and learning at your pace.

Do I need fashion design experience?

Not at all. This is a practical sewing course in Centurion focused on building real machine skills — not fashion theory.

I sew very slowly. Is that a problem?

Absolutely not. We care about neat sewing and confidence — speed comes later.

Are fabric and materials included?

Unless clearly stated, students bring their own fabric and personal sewing tools. Guidance is provided before class so you don’t panic-buy the wrong thing.

Are your sewing classes suitable for teenagers?

Yes — from around 13 years and older, provided they’re genuinely interested and comfortable working independently.
